Illume Ventures, in partnership with the Monash AI Institute and supported by Innovation Victoria, has selected 22 innovators for the inaugural Future Frontier cohort. Drawn from Victoria's universities, research community and startup ecosystem, these founders are turning advanced research into ventures with real-world impact.

More than 65% of the cohort hold PhDs and 100% hold a Masters degree or higher, with expertise spanning artificial intelligence, medicine, robotics, materials science, engineering, advanced manufacturing and environmental technology across eight Victorian universities.

Turning frontier technologies into world-class ventures

Future Frontier combines the technical expertise of the Monash AI Institute with Illume Ventures' experience in venture building, commercialisation and early-stage investment, giving participants the opportunity to explore not only what their technology can do, but who it can serve and what it could become.

Over the next 10 weeks, these innovators will move beyond the technology itself — testing problems, speaking with customers, exploring markets and developing the foundations for ventures with the potential to create meaningful impact.
